More than 16,000 drug-education booklets have been distributed across France by volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie. The volunteer-led prevention campaign in France involves shopkeepers, parents and educators.
The distributions included 5,100 booklets in Paris’s Oberkampf district, 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through approximately 50 shops in Arcachon.
The visits also prompted requests for teaching resources. In Ariège, a person working with a centre for young people with disabilities approached volunteers for materials.
La vérité sur la copyright is the French-language edition of the secular Truth About news eu parliament Drugs programme used by the volunteers. Support from the Church of Scientology and its members reflects founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about drugs and their effects on society.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, commented: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”
Scientology communities throughout Europe support educational initiatives, drug prevention, human-rights awareness and volunteer assistance.
